~Flamingo Class News~
Thank you all for making the Living History Museum such a wonderful experience for the children and all of you who attended! It was amazing to see such a huge turnout in the gym. The children worked hard all month researching, reading and writing their biographies. Classwork continues with our research and exploration of Central America and Mexico. Please take a minute to come inside the classroom and just behind the door you will find our "Mystery Map" where the children have traveled throughout Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama learning about the culture, food, history and geography of these countries. This work alongside their Spanish lessons twice a week has been a real joy for the children. Be sure to check the CLASS PHOTOS tab above to get a first-hand look at the numerous lessons the children are practicing on a daily basis. Do this with your children so that they can explain better what they and their friends are working on!
The children have been excitedly taking measurements, shopping for the materials, and assembling the cage for our new class pets. We must have everything ready before the return of Oakhurst Guinea Pig Rescue to bring us two "pigs." We are shooting for his return the first week of December!
Fall is upon us and we are looking forward to celebrating a wonderful luncheon with special family and friends of our students on Wednesday, November 22nd. They have all been diligently finishing up work that they started in order to complete lessons that they have been practicing, getting ready for the Thanksgiving break.
Please contact me if you would like to volunteer in our classroom. We sincerely appreciate the time you are able to take out of your day to work with the children!
